Abigail Gray, M.A., LPC

My name is Abigail Gray. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with TherapyMetrics. I graduated from the University of Saint Mary in May of 2022, with my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology.

I specialize in helping pre-teens/teens cope with anger, anxiety, and depression and help them navigate through life stressors and transitions. Being a parent to a teenager is HARD. I aim to help your teen develop healthy coping skills to combat general or social anxiety, learn ways to love themselves, boost their self-esteem and self-worth, and process their emotions. I will work with you and your teen on healthy communication in conflict.

My approach to therapy comes from a client-centered, strengths-based, and positive psychology space. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a structured and goal-oriented form of talk therapy. It works by identifying, tackling, and changing unhelpful thinking to improve your mindset, behaviors, and overall well-being with practice. I also use

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a structured and goal-oriented form of talk therapy focused on helping people who feel emotions intensely. DBT aims to help you understand and accept your complex and difficult feelings.

My passion allows me to come alongside you and your adolescent and provide you with a safe space to speak freely and without judgment. I am a fun psychotherapist and will build a strong rapport with them. It is essential for your pre-teen/teen to feel comfortable with their therapist, and I will make sure that happens. For example, I wear my neon pink vans and pictures of my dog hanging up. Being a fun therapist does not mean I sit there with your pre-teen/teen. It means we have built a foundation for therapy to grow and work.
